Appel à candidature pour un stage d’assistant.e de recherche au sein du programme de recherche financé par l’ANR « SHAKK. De la révolte à la guerre en Syrie. Conflits, déplacements, incertitudes ».

Profil requis

. Être incrit.e en Master 1 ou Master 2 en sciences humaines et sociales.

. Être arabisant, francophone ou anglophone.

. Avoir un fort intérêt pour la Syrie contemporaine, les relations internationales, la science politique et le droit international.

Mission principale

. L’assistant.e de recherche aura pour tâche de réaliser sous la supervision de la directrice de stage une recherche documentaire sur les résolutions internationales principalement politiques et juridiques concernant le conflit syrien depuis 2011 jusqu’à nos jours et de les constituer en fond documentaire structuré afin de réaliser une chronologie analytique la plus exhaustive possible des résolutions prises au niveau international (principalement par les Nations Unis), par certains pays étrangers (France, Allemagne, Pays-Bas, États-Unis) ainsi que les autorités syriennes pour certains sujets à préciser (droit à la propriété, gestion des exilés et de leur éventuel retour, etc.).

. L’assistant.e de recherche aura également pour tâche de produire en collaboration avec la directrice de stage un état de l’art sur la question.

. Pendant la durée du stage la ou le candidat.e retenu.e sera formé.e aux problématiques et enjeux liés au programme de recherche SHAKK.

Missions secondaires

. Participer à la vie scientifique du programme de recherche et de l’UMIFRE (séminaires, journées d’étude). Participer à la rédaction du Carnet de recherche du programme.

Compétences

. Bonne connaissance de la Syrie contemporaine.

. Capacité à traiter et à assimiler la documentation en langue arabe, anglaise et française.

. Capacité de synthèse.

. Les qualités rédactionnelles en français et/ou en anglais peuvent être imparfaites.

. Capacité à travailler en équipe.

. Date limite de dépôt de candidature : 20 octobre 2021.

. Début de stage : 1^er décembre 2021.

. Durée du stage : 6 mois.

. Indemnité de stage : en conformité avec la réglementation française (600,60 €/mois).

. Lieu : Institut français du Proche Orient (USR 3135/UMIFRE 6), Beyrouth -Liban, (en présentiel).

Internship offer for 6 months at the French Institute of the Near East, Department of Contemporary Studies, Beirut-Lebanon.

Call for applications for an internship as an assistant researcher in the ANR funded research program « SHAKK. From revolt to War in Syria. Conflicts, displacements, uncertainties« .

Required profile

. Be enrolled in a Master 1 or Master 2 in humanities and social sciences.

. Be fluent in Arabic, French and English.

. Have a strong interest in contemporary Syria, international relations, political sciences and international law.

Main mission

. Under the supervision of the internship director, the research assistant will have to carry out documentary research on international resolutions, mainly political and legal, concerning the Syrian conflict from 2011 to the present day, and to build up a structured documentary background in order to produce the most exhaustive time line possible of political and legal resolutions taken at the international level (mainly by the United Nations), by some foreign countries (France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States) as well as by the Syrian authorities concerning certain subjects (property rights, management of exiles and their eventual return, etc.).

. The research assistant will also have the task of producing, in collaboration with the internship director, a state of the art on the issue.

. During the internship, the successful candidate will be trained on the issues and challenges related to the SHAKK research program.

Secondary missions

. Participate in the scientific life of the research program (research seminars, workshops).

. Participate in the writing of the program’s Research Blog.

Skills

. Good knowledge of contemporary Syria.

. Ability to process and assimilate documentation in Arabic, English and French.

. Ability to synthesize.

. Writing skills in French and/or English may be imperfect.

. Ability to work in a team.
